Upcoming PTA Dances for 2013

Happy New Year to all, hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday.  The GMS PTA first dance was a huge success, the kids had a lot of fun and were able to mingle with their friends and even make some new ones. We, the PTA, would like to keep that going.  We only have one date so far, but we are working to get the rest set in stone. Here are just the preliminary types of dances we would like to have come this year.

· March Madness (March 22, 2013)

· Spring Fling (April)

· 8th Grade only dance (April/May)

JOIN THE GOOCHLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL PTA!

Joining the GMS PTA is easy: just fill out the form you received in your children papers, or visit the office! And all you have to do is just use the envelope attached to your PTA form, and send it back to us! Oops - lost or misplaced your form? Stop by the office, and we'll make sure they'll have a form for you! We will also be selling decals, accepting tax-deductible donations.  GMS PTA membership is available for $7.00 per parent/teacher!

What does my $7.00 get me, you ask? Well, look below for highlights from last year:

• GMS Student Directory (yes, we will publish another one this year!)
• National PTA "Reflections" Contest
• Special Programs
• Field Activities and free lunch
• Teacher Appreciation Events
• Academic support for teachers
• School Improvement projects
• Support of Community projects
• Special assemblies for parents and students
• Volunteer opportunities and activities that support GMS and the Goochland Community
• GMS PTA sponsorship of Dances, Talent Show, 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony Reception

Wow! Now, that's a lot for that $7.00, isn't it? And, believe it or not, we don't even get to keep all of that $7.00 - the Virginia PTA and National PTA associations receives some of it!
